Cowles Stadium

The last time PJF worked on Cowles Stadium was in 2012 as part of the earthquake strengthening project undertaken by Hawkins Construction, that mainly involved preparation and painting of existing and new structural steel to bring the 55 year old structure up to code.

More recently we were invited to provide a complete interior painting package to brighten the place up. Resene coatings were used including an industrial grade coating for the lower walls to handle the hard knocks better. The simple 3 colour scheme lightens the whole interior and the use of Resene Uracryl 802 (waterborne urethane acrylic) on the lower panels and doors provides a hard wearing high performance finish to protect the walls from the typical boisterous activity that occurs on a daily basis.

Feedback from the stadium staff and regular users suggests that the repaint has transformed the place and it is a much brighter and inviting place than before. A great result.
